Job scams piggyback on Naukri, LinkedIn, Apna and Indeed by scraping resumes, then calling candidates with what sounds like a genuine offer from a well-known company. The fraud usually progresses in two stages. First, a friendly HR caller offers a remote role at Amazon / TCS / Infosys / Wipro with a ₹4.5 — 7.5 LPA package. Once you express interest, you are routed to a “verification” step that requires payment of a ₹1,500 — ₹29,000 fee for background checks, laptop courier, training material, or HR insurance — all of which is fake. Genuine employers never charge candidates for any step of the hiring process.
